Yorktown’s official spring and summer recreation brochure listed the hunt at the 202 Fields at Downing Park for March 21, 2026, with a March 28 rain date. It described sessions at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. for children ages 12 and under, co-sponsored by Yorktown Parks and Recreation.
The brochure listed no resident fee and a $5 nonresident fee. These are historical published details, not proof that a particular session occurred or that the same schedule will recur. The original article’s general Easter-weekend framing did not make that timing clear.
Harvest Moon: why organizer rules matter
The Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard 2026 event page described an outdoor hunt for children ages nine and under, with separate arrangements for younger and older participants and Easter Bunny visits.
Its rules stated that baskets were provided and outside baskets or bags were not allowed. That is an important exception to the original article’s general suggestion to bring your own basket. The page also described weather-cancellation notices and refunds when the event was canceled. Do not assume those terms apply to another organizer or a future season.
Check these details for a future outing
- Confirm the year, date, exact venue and session time from the organizer.
- Check age groups, registration requirements and resident or nonresident eligibility.
- Review ticket costs, accompanying-adult rules and what admission includes.
- Ask about terrain, accessibility, parking and the route from your starting point.
- Read basket, food, pet and photography rules before arriving.
- Check the organizer’s cancellation or rain-date notice before leaving.
Save the announcement or confirmation you used. A recycled event listing can look current even when its date or rules belong to a previous year.
